Following the killing of innocent people and destruction of property in the Northern part of the country, Middle Belt Youths Focus, MBYF, has threatened to defend people of the region, if the attacks were not stopped forthwith.
President of the group, Alhaji Abdulazeez Bello in a statement condemned the frequent attacks by the Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen on innocent Nigerians and warned that the acts could no-longer be condoned.
Abdulazeez said, “should the situation degenerate any further than it is today, the people of Middle Belt will have no other option that to defend themselves, even with the last blood in us.
“We the people of Middle Belt have been and will continue to embrace peace but there is limit to our patience. Our silence is based on our belief in the unity and co-existence of our nation.”
He noted that the reoccurrence of attacks in Jos, Plateau State, was a calculated attempt to destabilise the Middle Belt region.
The youth leader, who lamented the manner the menace had been handled by the Federal Government, decried what he called the non-chalant attitude of the various security organisations, urging them to wake up to their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property.
