Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s famed achievement in road development came under scathing criticism Monday after a group, the Edo Agenda Movement described his use of helicopter for campaign as a way of avoiding the bad roads in the state.

“Going to Uromi in a chopper that reportedly landed at Ebhoiyi Primary School has questioned the claim by the governor that he has rehabilitated all roads in Edo Central Senatorial District and brought succor to the people,” the group said yesterday in a statement issued in Benin by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Magnus Omohinmi.

“If he had done so, why did he choose to travel in a chopper rather than on the roads he claimed to have rehabilitated?  We call on Edo people to challenge the governor to account between now and Saturday for public funds expended on chartering the chopper; otherwise, they should punish him by denying him their votes during the election on Saturday,”

The group which is apparently aligned to the PDP questioned the source of funding for the helicopter saying that it amounted to an undue advantage for the governor over his rivals in the gubernatorial contest.
