Kano Pillars, Nasiru Ali 62nd minute strike was enough to send Plateau United packing from the quarter final of the on going Federation Cup at the Agege Township Stadium.
Early strike by Lonegji Obadah of Plateau United in the 6th minute ignited the entire Agege fans but was short-lived as Gambo Mohammed struck in the 8th minutes before the Super Eagles defensive midfielder; Gabriel Reuben made it two in the 37th minute.
Reuben Bala equalized for the Plateau United in the 47th minute of the first half giving hope to the Bitrus Bewarang boys but Nsiru Ali shattered hope some few minutes to the regulated time.
Speaking to newsmen at the post match, Nasiru Ali said, “I am happy with score line as it gave us what we came to Lagos for, which is the Federation Cup crown. We are still on course for it and I am optimistic we will not fail our fans and management.”
Another upset was seen at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan were Nigerian National League (NNL) side, Prime FC Oshobo humbled Enyimba of Aba with two unreplied goals from Ebun and Chris Akpough in the 21st and 65th minute.
Heartland also booked their place in the Semi Final defeating Crown FC Ogbomosho by 2-0 while Lobi Stars ended the hopes of Sharks of Port Harcourt with a 3-1 defeat.
The semi Final matches will be played in Calabar and Ilorin in date yet to be mentioned by the Nigerian Football Federation.
