Team Manger of Cerezo Queens,Tina Aiyenugba has admitted that her girls have done well but will do better next season.
Aiyenugba made this known to Saturday Vanguard Sports from Ilorin that the call-up of the three of the team’s star players, Olukayode Abosede, Faith Unnu and Mariam Abdulrasheed speaks volume of the job done by the team’s management and coaching crew.
“Our sweetest joy for the season is the call-up given to three of our players to the Super Falcons and Mariam Abdurasheed was able to make the final cut. This shows that we are really working on the right robe,” Aiyenugba said.
On the team’s performance, the ex-international said the inexperience of her young side would be wiped out next season stressing that the present position of the team implies that the girls are learning the robes faster.
“Everything is going fine for the team according to mine assessment being that we are a very young side. It is a bit hard to just stroll onto the top of the log in the league where there are more experience teams. Well, I believe next season, we will get it right following the experience gathered,” Aiyenugba added.
Cerezo Queens seat 10th on the log of the Northern conference with about seven games left.
