AKURE— GOVERNOR Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, yesterday, asked civil servants in the Southwest zone to cooperate with the political class in their various programmes designed to achieve socio- economic transformation of the region.
He spoke in Akure at the second edition of the Summit of Heads of Service of states in the Southwest.
Mimiko, who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, said the well-articulated policies of the political class in the region, if properly implemented, were capable of addressing the pressing needs of the people.
He described the civil service as “the time-honoured instrument for effective and efficient implementation of government programmes and policies to deliver good governance to the people.”
He called on the leadership of the civil service to also generate ideas that could enhance speedy implementation of policies.
