AWKA- GOVERNOR Peter Obi of Anambra State has warned politicians against politics of self destruction, stressing that politics that negated due process and rule of law was a threat to the stability and safety of the society.
The governor, who spoke at Ekwulobia in Aguata local government area, at the conclusion of a tour of 21 local governments of the state, said what Anambra needed at present was for the people to re-order their thinking to be in line with what will be of benefit to the state.
He regretted that after his administration had built and equipped schools to bring qualitative education to the door steps of every child, some politicians still encouraged children to engage in vices by using them as thugs to achieve their political interest without considering the long term consequences on the children.
According to him, the tour of local government areas has enabled him to listen to the people, identify their problems and harness their input in government.
He declared that he would embark on such tour every three months to meet the people one-on-one, with a view to telling them what his government was doing in various areas and what the government had concluded plans to do as part of the measures to transform the state.
