Rev Aaron Ndirmbita, the Pastor in charge of Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) headquarters Church, Jos, has said that its member was killed in error in the confusion of last Sunday’s suicide bomb attack on the Church.

Aaron, who addressed journalists on Thursday in Jos, said that the victim, Mr Joseph Adams Ashaba, a staff of Enterprise Bank, was mistaken to be with the suicide bomber since he was found near the point that the bomb exploded.

It would be recalled that a man was killed by angry members of the Church immediately the bomb went off thinking that he came with the suicide bomber.

“ Late Asaba was a full member of this congregation. He was committed and dedicated member for more then 10 years.’’

The Pastor said that the deceased was not a terrorist as was labelled, explaining that the deceased would be buried together with other members who were killed in the unfortunate incident on Friday.

Mrs Laitu Adams told journalists that her late husband drove them to Church for the 7a.m. service.

She stated that after the blast, she assembled the children but could not see her husband, whose body was later discovered at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

“Let me put the records straight, my husband had never been and even in death cannot be counted as a terrorist. He was a committed member of COCIN headquarters Church.’’ (NAN)
