Kaduna United assistant coach, Saleh Lato has blamed his team’s woeful performance this season on massive outflow of first team players and late preparations.

Speaking to Inside Out Premier Leagueat the Ilorin Township Stadium after his team’s 3-1 defeat to host Kwara United, he said the team have not blended enough.

“We are not happy with ourselves because we came to Ilorin with the aim of picking at least a point.  I know we have not been able to get our act right due to massive influx of new players following the departure of almost all of our first team players at the end of last season. The boys are giving their best as expected but it will pay off as the season progresses.

“We started our preparations very late given the issue we had with funds which actually impeded our balance in terms of team work. This also made us to conduct recruitment of over 90 percent new players a few days to the commencement of the new season. It was really a blow to our preparations bearing in mind our status in the NPL,” Lato said.

On his team’s weekend tie against 2010/2011 Champions, Enyimba of Aba, he said, “We all know that they are a big side that deserve respect but they do the same to us too. So, I believe it will be a nice game for both sides. At the end of the final whistle, we hope to celebrate our first victory,” Lato added.
