Edo 2012 guber race: Ihonvbere, Imasuagbon pick nomination forms

AHEAD the February 25, 2012 governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Special Adviser to the President, Prof.Julius Ihonvbere and Barr.Ken Imasuagbon, yesterday purchased the N5.5million expression of interest and governorship nomination forms.

Ihonvbere asserted that, “My picking the forms signals a new dawn and an opportunity for Edo people to finally reap the benefit of our experience, exposure and loyalty to the party. I am very confident that I will win the primaries and PDP will win at the general election.”

Imasuagbon who picked his form at about 11:45am at the state Secretariat of the party, stressed his sincere desire to pick the ticket of the PDP for face Governor Adams Oshiomhole in the July 14, governorship election and urged his fellow aspirants to eschew violence in their campaigns.

While expressing confidence that his decision to pick the governorship form was the “beginning of the end of the ACN led government in the state” he urged other aspirants to play by the rules. “They should know that democracy is on trial here in Edo state.
