PORT HARCOURT – SOUTH- South Peoples Assembly, SSPA, has enjoined the Federal Government to take seriously, the recent ultimatum handed Christians to vacate the North by the Boko Haram sect.
National secretary of the body, Dr Kalada Iruenabere, who spoke to Vanguard in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, warned that it was a reflection of events which led to the 1966 pogrom against a section of the South by some Northern elements. He charged security operatives to be vigilant and watch out for any sign of pogrom so as to nip them in the bud.
He said: “Let us bear in mind what these people are planning to do by asking people to leave and asking their brothers to come back home. It was the way the 1966 events started. Our security agents should watch out for possible pogrom.”
