BENIN—GOVERNORSHIP aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, Mr Ken Imasuagbon, who declared his intension to run for the July 14, 2012 governorship election in the state, weekend, expressed optimism that the nation would overcome the prevailing tension. He also called for support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
Imasuagbon who pointed out that President Jonathan was popular, said he therefore should be given the desired support to move the nation forward. He said the President meant well for the nation adding, “we are going to overcome kidnapping. This country will be stronger than ever. We voted for the President and we must support him to succeed.”
Imasuagbon, who disclosed his intention at the traditional Urhokpota Hall grounds in Benin, lamented that the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN-led government in the state had failed to provide employment for the people of the state as promised, assuring “if I am voted into power, I will provide 50,000 jobs in the first 100 days in office.”
