A 20-year old sales boy, Chukwunonso Anigbogu, of No.23, Gbazango Cresent, Kubwa, FCT on Wednesday appeared before an Abuja Chief Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing N263,000.
Police Prosecutor Simon Ibrahim told the court that on December 24, Precious Chukwuemeka, of NSITF Plaza, Wuse, reported to the police that she left the accused who was her sales boy in the shop with N263,000.
Ibrahim further told the court that the complainant returned to her shop and did not find the money.
He said that the accused was charged with theft, which contravened sections 289 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Chief Magistrate Malo Fatima granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with a surety, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
She adjourned the case to January 10, 2012 for hearing. (NAN)
