Ado-Ekiti – Immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, has described claim by the Dr. Kayode Fayemi-led Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, government in the State that the newly commissioned House of Assembly Complex was abandoned by his government as untrue.
According to him, “We never abandoned any project. Rather, what we had were ongoing projects and the House of Assembly Complex that they just commissioned was actually billed for completion before the end of December, 2010.”
Speaking through his Media Aide, Mr. Lere Olayinka, the former governor said; “The contractor that executed the Assembly project did not leave site for a single day and project was already done, and the contractor paid more than 80 per cent. So how was it abandoned?”
The former governor also said a recent newspaper report credited to Fayemi that the State was generating N109 million as monthly Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, has no audit backing.
