BENIN CITY – President of Nigerian Institute of Welding and former national chairman of Peoples Progressive Party, PPP, Chief Solomon Edebiri, yesterday, formally declared his intension to contest the 2012 governorship election in Edo State on the platform of the Coalition of Political Parties, CPP.
The Coalition, which is made up of Congress for Progressive Change, CPP; All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP; Citizens Popular Party, CPP and a faction of Labour Party in the state is led by Mr. Godwin Erhahon.
The leaders of the coalition, which includes former Chief of Staff to the state Government, Mr. Isaiah Osifo, Roy Orobator of the CPP, took turns to carpet the Governor Adams Oshiomhole-led government in the state, saying that his administration had failed to uplift the lives of the masses.
According to them, the beautification programme of the state government which had gulped billions of tax payers’ money was not the solution to the problems being faced by the people of the state.
Oshiomhole, who reacted, to criticisms against his administration by the leaders of the coalition, described them as “hired political harlots, who cannot even win there booths during elections.”
