Former Bayelsa Chairman Felix Beke has urged the Nigeria Premier League, NPL Board led by Victor Baribote to come out with better plans to improve the league next season rather than indulge in so much crisis.

Beke, told Inside Out Premier League that the recent suspension of Akin Akinbobola from the league Board and other issues should not be allowed to affect the smooth running of the league.

Stressing that a continuous crisis in the league system will not do the league any good but drag it backward, Beke urged the NPL Board to resolve whatever issues they have within the Board amicably so as to have a better league next season.

“We are entering into a new year and what Nigerians should be expecting now is how our league will be better, have a better programme set out for the league next season and not crisis here and there.

A league that is full of crisis will not grow or improve. Sometimes it could be good to have issues within the family but when it is too much it becomes a problem. There is no problem that cannot be solved, they should ensure they settle the grudges amongst themselves,”he advised.

When asked the kind of league he is expecting in 2012, he said, “ I want to see a better league with good officiating, that means we have to take good care of our referees. Players welfare should been taken care of in order to have good performances. Also the issue of hooliganism should be tackled properly.

Lastly, the NPL should also do its best to ensure fans come to the stadium to watch matches by providing security,” he concluded.
