Bauchi—Bauchi State Governor, Malam Isa Yuguda, has lamented the delay in the completion of the state Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, secretariat by the contractors handling the project.
Yuguda, who said this at Government House, during an interactive session with newsmen, Tuesday, added that the completion of the contract was behind schedule.
He noted that the contractor was paid huge money as mobilisation fee before commencing construction, only to abandon the job half way.
The governor directed the contractor to go back to site and ensure its completion or face prosecution.
Meanwhile, NUJ National President, Alhaji Muhammad Garba, has commended Yuguda for ordering the completion of the secretariat.
Garba made the commendation while supervising the secretariat, yesterday, noting that the project had direct bearing in development of the state and the journalism profession in the country.”
He however, assured that the Governor will keep to his promise by making sure that the project would soon be completed and put to use by journalists in the state.
