Eagles striker, Osaze Peter Odemwingie will soon discover that the early season romance with obscurity is over with the Baggies. He has come under pressure to score goals to keep his club safe in the Premier League.
Last season his 15 goals heroics saw West Brom surviving the drop. And as the
club continue to struggle to keep the momentum, manager Roy Hodgson has tasked Osaze to keep the goals coming and do better than last season.
‘He knows he can do a lot better, we all do, said Hodgson.
Osaze is yet to open his goal account this season with 11 games gone. And as West Brom goal getter Shane Long is down with injury Osaze is now under pressure to perform for the Club.
Earlier in the season the man who brought Osaze from Lokomotiv Moscow, Roberto Di Matteo warned that Osaze would not be able to match up his goal scoring record this season.
Matteo who is now number two at Chelsea added that he took a gamble with Osaze and it worked out for West Brom.
‘I hope he can do it again because he’s a great personality, great character and enthusiastic – but it will be tough for him,” Matteo said earlier in the season.
Osaze was rewarded with a new Brom contract after his exploits last season and it is up to him to justify the 42,000 pounds a week salary he draws from West Brom.
