Former Super Eagles midfielder Etim Esin, has disagreed with former Eagles skipper Sunday Oliseh that the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation contributed to the team’s ouster from the Nations Cup and therefore its chairman, Barrister Christopher Green should be sacked like Samson Siasia.
Oliseh, during the week, accused Green and his entire crew for not being technically deficient as they could not guide Siasia on the rules of the qualifiers.
But Esin asked, “Is Green the Eagles coach? Did he sign any contract to handle team, is it not Siasia? Was Green the one that selected the players against Guinea ? And was he the person that dropped Vincent Enyeama for Dele Aiyenugba? All these are the questions we should ask him (Oliseh).
He continued, “The NFF technical committee did not make decision on the team, so I disagree with Oliseh. Their ouster should be blamed on Siasia alone because I understand they gave him free hands to do his job.
“Already, we are moving ahead with the new coach, Stephen Keshi, having played two games, drew one and won one. I think it is a good development, so it is high time we forgot the past and look into the future,” he concluded.
