District Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Nigeria Apapa District Rev. Michael Ogunbola has described same sex marriage is ungodly and against African culture and belief.
Speaking during the church’s 2011 convention tagged; “The All Suffici-ent God”, Rev. Ogunbola said marriages are cond-ucted between a man and a woman as laid down by God.
According to him, God is against homosexuality. He therefore urged the nation’s legislature not to allow a few depraved minds in the society to becloud their sense of judgment to pass the bill currently before the Nat-ional Assembly, pointing out that the African culture abhors same sex marriage and homosexuality.
“God is against it and as a church we are strongly against same sex marriage. We are using this occasion to appeal to the National Assembly not to imitate everything western. We should allow our sense of judgment,” he said.
Speaking on security in the country, Ogunbola said the Church is not happy with the killings in the North, adding that government should immediately arrest the issue the massive killing that is taking place in that part of the country.
