Former governor of Lagos State and chieftain of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Chief Bola Tinubu, has predicted that ACN would win the governorship election in both Kogi and Bayelsa states because of the crisis in Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in both states.
Tinubu, who spoke to newsmen at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos, also criticised PDP’s alleged defying of a court order halting last weekend’s governorship primaries in Bayelsa State, saying ACN would capitalise on the internal crisis within PDP to win elections in the two states.
Tinubu said PDP, being the ruling party, should not have violated a court order but instead show some degree of respect for the Rule of Law.
He said: “We will capitalise on their crisis to win and win massively. The only disappointing thing is the fact that the party could not obey a court order. If you are a ruling party in this country and you are talking about the Rule of Law, you should be a role model.
“You should show good leadership. They still have time, so what is the desperation for?
“Why should you milita-rise Bayelsa for primaries? But that is the kind of party we have, Poverty Development Party.”
On the chances of ACN winning the December 3 governorship election in Kogi Sate, Tinubu said: ‘’Very bright. We have good chances if the election is free and fair, if it is devoid of violence and other malpractices. We have faith in Jega’s men and we are working really hard. We are ready for change.”
He, however, pointed out that the rotation of the presidency should not be based on zoning formula as every citizen in the country has the right to aspire and contest for the presidency.
