UGHELLI-Commissioner representing Ughelli South/Uvwie/Udu local government areas on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Develop-ment Commission, DESO-PADEC, Mr. Johnson Boro, Wednesday, said Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan was poised to make life more meaningful for people of oil-bearing communities of the state.
He also stressed the need for oil bearing communities across the state to partner with the commission by making imputs in the 2012 budget of the commission.
Speaking at a town hall meeting on priority projects to be executed in the host communities, he said: “Imputs from the commu-nities would form a data base for the commission to deliver on its mandate.”
He added that rather than select projects for the communities, the commission had deemed it fit to interact with host communities so as to identify their needs in terms of projects that would make better impact on their socio-economic lives.
Boro urged the people to continue in their support of Governor Uduaghan.
Chairman, Host Communities of Nigeria (Oil and Gas) Udu Local Government Area chapter, Mr. Efe Okovwurie, said they were satisfied with the commission’s decision to interact with them on their priority projects in 2012.
