Youths under the aegis of Niger-Delta Elite (NDE) have called on President Goodluck Jonathan to use credibility as yardstick to appoint the next Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
In a communiqué issued at the end of its meeting held in Port-Harcourt, River State, the group appealed to the president to be wary of the caliber of persons to be appointed into the new board of the commission.
The communiqué tipped Chief (Engr.) Ogheneovo Omene, which it addressed as an American trained civil and real estate engineer and developer, to head the commission.
The communiqué signed by the group’s national co-ordinator, Mr. Kingley Obasey, and national secretary, Mr. Akamugbe Aghwaretom, said Omene remained a viable person for the office of the NDDC MD in view of his humanitarian contributions to the indigents and the youths of the Niger Delta.
