In his bid to take football education to the next level in Nigeria, former goalkeeper of the Super Eagles, Peter Rufai has decided to take his football clinic outside of Lagos to two other states in the country.
The football clinic, which is organised by Rufai’s Staruf Football Academy and sponsored by Nestle Milo Nig. Plc, will hold for the first time in Enugu from October 10-15
The first two days of the programme, Monday and Tuesday next week, will be a seminar session for grassroots football coaches with the aim of updating their knowledge of the game, which has gone scientific. The clinic for children between the ages of 10 and 15 will be followed from Wednesday, 12-15 October.
Speaking on the Enugu leg of the football clinic, Rufai, who once played in Belgium, with K.S.C. Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen and K.S.K. Beveren, the success of last year’s edition of the football clinic as well as the need to expand the scope of the event so that all states of the federation will have a feel of modern football, motivated Staruf Football Academy to take the programme to the Eastern state.
