Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has called on Federal Government to honour its part of the bargain to ensure that federal roads in the state were repaired.
He made the call in an interview with newsmen after inspecting on-going construction work by the state government to expand the Ugbowo-Lagos Road and some other projects in the state.
According to him, government was conti-nuing with the cons-truction of two additional lanes from Ugbowo to Kings Square to ensure smooth ride.
He said: “The state government is putting pressure on the Federal Ministry of Works to ensure that federal roads are completed. Our own part of the job is going on and we are taking advantage of the dry season.”
The Governor said the benefits of expanding Ugbowo-Lagos Road by the state government will fully be realised when Federal Government meet its part of the bargain.
He said before the next raining season, appreciable work will be done on the road and called for understanding from road users.
