Shooting Stars of Ibadan might have defeated Federation Cup winner, Heartland FC 1-0 at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in last weekend week 35 games of the Nigerian Premier League, but still has not scale through the bar of relegation.
Reacting after the match on how the team plans to weather the relegation storm, coach Fatai Amoo said the victory was what they wanted but craved a huge score line.
He informed Inside Out Premier League that his sight is fixed on amassing points to survival relegation.
“So far, so good, we got what we wanted, which was victory even though we did not score more than a goal but played relatively okay. We have three games to play; we know we must commit our all into it so we can have a better finish on the log at the end of the season,” Coach Amoo said.
On his strikers’ wastefulness in front of goal, Arsenal as he is fondly called by his fans, said, “I accept the fact that we were wasteful in front of goal. It is something we have been working on in training and we will continue to because we have not seen any improvement yet.
We hope that in our next game, the players would have improved on it,” Amoo added.
