OWERRI- Imo State Command of the State Security Service, SSS, has launched a manhunt for the traditional ruler of Lagwa autonomous community, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Eze Cosmas Onyeneke, whose factory premises was used as detention camp for kidnap victims.
Stern looking SSS operatives in the past week traced and successfully rescued two kidnapped women held in the factory premises located at Eziala Enyiogugu, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area.
Feelers from security circles revealed that the royal father is being sought to ascertain his alleged level of involvement in the kidnap saga.
Meanwhile, Imo State Government has said it was already thinking of what to do with the royal father whose factory premises was found to be a safe haven for kidnappers.
Addressing a cross section of Imo people last Tuesday in Owerri, Governor Rochas Okorocha reaffirmed the readiness of his administration to deal with any traditional ruler found to be harbouring armed robbers and kidnappers in his domain.
He said: “For now, this administration is thinking of what to do with the traditional ruler in Mbaise whose factory was harbouring kidnappers. Government will surely deal with him.”
