Guinea’s Syli Stars have refused to rule themselves out in the October 8 Nations Cup qualifier against the Eagles in Abuja.

The Syli Stars are coming with the mindset of salvaging a point and clinch the group B ticket, but according to Nigeria Football Federation technical committee boss, Chris Greene, the Eagles will collect the maximum points.

Though Guinea’s preparation for the important clash took some knocks, they are still hopeful of sharing the spoils, a result which will suit their purpose.

Barrister Greene said: We are not losing any sleep on Guinea’s account. Our preparations are on course our target is to win and earn qualification.”

The Guineans will open camp in Paris this weekend and train for five days before jetting to Abuja for the match. Their original plan was to have the players camp in Conakry before coming to Nigeria for the game. But there was a change of plans due to financial constraints.

That not withstanding, Guinean striker, Mamoudu Djoulde Bah stated that barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Syli Stars will plug all loopholes and secure a favourable result.

“It’s a good thing that we are still ahead of a team who have qualified for the Nations Cup regularly for the past 25 years. That will put them under pressure.

“We are yet to qualify but our destiny is in our hands. The match in Abuja will determine our fate.

“But again, the pressure is on Nigeria, not on Guinea, to win this match.”
