WARRI- A bridge on the Agbor-Abraka federal road at Umutu, near Kwale in Delta State, now constitutes a serious threat to motorists and other travellers as a better portion of the bridge had caved in.
Vanguard gathered, weekend, that the bad portion of the bridge had been cordoned off by the villagers as it was close to collapse.
Indigenes of Umutu community trooped to the location, weekend, flagging down motorists and redirecting them to safer routes. They could not, however, prevent the passage of long/heavy vehicles which worsened the stress on bridge.
It was learnt that signs of the collapsing bridge were noticed last Thursday.
However, some government vehicles, apparently on their way to Asaba through Agbor, sped past the bridge in a convoy despite the hazard.
