Ramadan ends, says Sultan of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto and head of the Muslim community in Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammed Sa’ad Abubakar announced Monday that the new moon had been sighted last night thereby bringing the Muslim Ramadan to an end. In his broadcast to all the Muslims, Sultan Abubakar enjoined them to observe the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations Tuesday.
