Ado-Ekiti—Prominent traditional rulers in Nigeria including Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Emir of Zaria, Alhaji Shehu Idris and others are expected to grace the coronation of new Elekole of Ikole-Ekiti and Paramount ruler of Egbeobaland, Oba Adewumi Ajibade Fasiku, on Saturday
Other distinguished Nigerians expected on the occasion include South-West governors, Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,NNPC, Mr Austin Oniwon and members of the National Assembly to be led by the Senate President, Senator David Mark.
Oba Fasiku, a lawyer and chartered accountant, and a former senior manager with NNPC, emerged the new monarch after the demise of the former occupant, late Oba Adetula Adeleye, on October 2, 2010
Briefing newsmen on activities lined up for the ceremony in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, Chairman, Publicity Sub-Committee of Elekole Coronation Planning Committee,CPC,Dr Bayo Aderiye said the two leading monarchs would lead other eminent royal fathers to the occasion.
