The Super Eagles camp has been hit by more withdrawals as the duo of Kalu Uche and Danny Shittu have been excused from the all important Africa Cup of Nations match against Madagascar in Antananarivo on September 4.
This was confirmed by the Super Eagles media officer, Colins Udoh. Said he: “Kalu Uche has also withdrawn but there will be no replacement for him.”
This rebuts reports that he had been replaced by Isaac Promise. “Isaac Promise has not been called up,” he affirmed. Kalu and Shittu’s withdrawal brings to three the number of first team players staying away from the all-important clash. Osaze Odemwingie had withdrwan due to injury. Shittu’s was also due to injury.
Meanwhile, Mikel Obi and Victor Anichebe were the morning arrivals. They were joined in the afternoon by Ahmed Musa and Fengor Ogude. Dele Adeleye came in at about 6pm. The media officer added that Obinna Nsofor and Chinedu Obasi landed at about the same time while Ekpo who has been called to replace Osaze will join the rest of the team in Bangladesh.
