AWKA—THE family of Miss Uzoamaka Offor, a 25-year-old nurse working at Chioma Hospital, Nnewi who died mysteriously after work on Tuesday last week has petitioned the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, seeking investigation into circumstances surrounding her death.
Uzoamaka was said to have socialised with her colleagues up to 10 pm before retiring to the nurses’ quarters on the third floor of the same building that houses the hospital only to be found dead about midnight.
Neighbours said they heard a scuffle in her room at about midnight and suddenly there was a bang on the ground. They added that they were perplexed when one of the doctors serving in the hospital showed them the lifeless body of the girl.
Her father, Mr. Augustine Offor, a mason, who narrated the incident to Vanguard said it was his sister-in-law who informed him the following day that something tragic had happened to his daughter.
