UGHELLI – NATIONAL Association of Delta State Students, NADESSTU, has urged the Delta State Government to beef up security in Ekpan and its environs in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking with newsmen in Ughelli, yesterday, South-South Co-ordinator of the students body, Comrade Christopher Bakporhe lamented that the area had become a haven for armed robbers over the last eight weeks.
He said that the NADESSTU National President, Senate President and National Secretary, Comrade Obinne Agbaneshi, Miss Diana Edemasillo and Comrade David Ochonogor respectively were shot on August 13, by armed robbers along Refinery Road.
Bakporhe disclosed that their valuable items were carted away by the armed robbers, while a car belonging to the National Secretary was vandalised.
