OWERRI – NO fewer than 38,000 candidates will vie for admission placements in Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO, during the current post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
The institution’s Public Relations Officer, PRO, Miss Adaeze Okany, said: “FUTO has 22,397 candidates vying for 3,300 admission placements for the 2011/2012 academic session expected to commence in October. Added to this number are over 8,000 candidates who made FUTO their second choice.
Okany noted that, “All the candidates must have scored 180 and above in the last 2011 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination,” adding that they must have also completed the registration form before the examination date.
Meanwhile, the Admissions Officer, Prof. Israel Ndukwe, has warned parents and guardians against the exchange of money or any other form of gratification for admission.
