Theatre group honours Irobi with a book

In honour of late poet and playwright, Professor Esiaba Irobi, Loneranger Comprehensive Theater Services, Owerri, Imo State, to immortalise the writer with the publication of two anthologies namely; Rhythms Through Cancer-an anthology of poems on cancer and cancer related issues, and Exiles of conscience – a collection of stories and plays. The two anthologies are meant to celebrate the memories of Ezenwa Ohaeto and Esiaba Irobi respectively.

In a press release, the organisation said each poem must not exceed 100 words and that contributors are expected to explore but not restricted to the following themes:The state of medi-care in developing countries, Healthcare and the fate of the Nigerian writer, Cancer in varying shapes and shades, Cancer around the globe, The writer, the exile, the doctor, and cancer, Cancer and effective cure: foraging into the future, Symptoms of cancer, Factors that promote the prevalence of cancer,Traditional African and Orthodox Western medicine: the struggle for the soul of cancer, Cancer, children and Gender issues.

According to them, works should be futuristic and preferably utopian. And that stories should not exceed 1500 words. Stories and plays are expected to reflect serious psychological depth. Writers are encouraged to be experimental. The works we shall accept must have something beyond the ordinary. It should not exceed four A4 pages of font point 14 typed with Times New Roman in 1.5 line spacing.
