UGHELLI— THE Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ughelli ‘A’ Division, Delta State, Mr Chris Sorgbara, has advised aggrieved commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada riders against breaching the prevailing peace in the area.
The Okada riders in the area, have been up in arms against the Caretaker Committee on Commercial Motorcycle Riders over alleged imposition of N20 daily ticket on them by the committee.
Mr Sorgara, who rode with the protesting commercial motorcyclists, while the protest lasted, assured that their complaints would be channelled to the appropriate authorities.
Urging them to go about their Okada riding business peacefully, he said that violent protest was not the best way to express their displeasure over the introduction of the N20 daily levy.
Sorgbara, stressed the need for them to join hands with the police and other security agencies in the area to sustain the prevailing peace in the area.
