Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo is one of the discussants expected at high level panel discussions at the on-going 100th session of the International Labour Conference ( ILC) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Also , there were indications that President Goodluck Jonathan who was earlier expected to address the ILC will no longer do so.
President Jonathan is not listed as a speaker at the conference.
On the other hand, Nigeria is out of the Governing Body at the level of employers, government and workers.
The Governing Body is a executive decision making organ of the ILO.
Meanwhile, the former president is expected to disscuss
” Lessons from the recent crisis for building sustainable and shared societies; implications for the ILO” on Tuesday, June 14.
Other discussants include, former president of Ghana, Mr. John Kufuor and the former prime minister of Netherlands, Mr. Wim Kok.
Also on Wednesday, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo will also discuss “ the need for a new era of social justice”. This is a high level panel organised by Club de Madrid.
The discussion will take place after the address of Russian prime minister, His Excellencey, Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Swiss Confederation, Her Excellency, Ms. Micheline Calmy-Rey and the President of Tanzania, His Excellencz, Mr. Jakaza Mrisho Kikwete.
