LAGOS—THE Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogbo, weekend, in Lagos,  charged men and officers of the Command to be vigilant in order to checkmate activities of unscrupulous elements in the society.

The Naval Chief spoke at the end of the first bi-annual inspection of naval facilities within the command, following the spate of violence, especially bombing in parts of the country.

He said: “I have spoken about commitment to duty, training and curbing illegalities in our area of responsibility.  I hope we will keep all these at the back of our mind.  Again, let me remind you all to be more security conscious, especially with the recent bombings in some parts of the country by some unscrupulous elements.  You must remain vigilant at all times.

“Since the beginning of the incumbent chief of naval staff, we have carried out two exercises, Farri wata and Nemo, both in the western and eastern naval commands.”
