Boko Haram dares IG, cautions civilians

 By NDAHI MARAMA

MAIDUGURI—Muslim fundamentalists, popularly known as Boko Haram have dared the Inspector- General of Police (IGP), Mr. Hafis Ringim, over his statement that their  days were numbered.

Ringim, who was in Maiduguri to assess the security situation in Borno State, had told newsmen at the Maiduguri International Airport that the police and other security agencies had concluded plans to crush the Boko Haram insurgency, in the North .

Boko Haram, in a statement in Hausa, declared that dialogue with President Goodluck Jonathan had collapsed because of the statements by Ringim and Governor Kashim Shettima during the donation of the 10   personnel armoured carriers, APCs, by the Borno State Government to fight them.

The organisation, therefore, advised civilians to restrict their movements in Maiduguri and its environs as well as other northern states and the FCT, warning that it  would deplore new strategies which will be very devastating.
