Adeboye sets agenda for President

LAGOS — THE General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, yesterday, joined the league of eminent Nigerians to congratulate President Goodluck Jonathan on his inauguration.

Adeboye also congratulated all the newly sworn-in political office holders, as he enjoined  President Jonathan to stand up to the challenges of satisfying the yearnings of Nigerians for adequate power supply, security, health services, affordable houses for the masses and job opportunities.

Speaking through the Assistant Zonal Pastor in charge of the National Headquarters of the church in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, Pastor Goke Aniyeloye, at a briefing on the forthcoming prayer for the people in the entertainment industry, Pastor Adeboye implored the President to be selfless as he has promised.

According to the RCCG helmsman, the President should quickly address the aspirations of the masses who took the pain to cast their ballots in April, especially in the provision of basic amenities for Nigerians, adding that the expectation of the Nigerian people is enormous.

Continuing, the man of God who is expected to pray with practitioners in the home video industry as well as the army of musicians, advised Jonathan not allow himself to be distracted by sycophants from the task of governing the country diligently.

Adeboye also urged other political office holders not to disappoint God, saying it is through God’s grace that they were elected into their various offices and must use their various offices to serve God and humanity.

Also praying for the nation’s economy, Pastor Adeboye implored God to revive the nation’s economy and Nigeria will become the true giant of Africa and take its rightful position in the comity of nations.

“We seize this opportunity to congratulate all the newly elected political office holders,” he said, adding “we pray that the Almighty God will work with them. We implore them to see their election and swearing in as a call to serve God and humanity.

The president should see to the welfare of the people by paying urgent attention to the provision of regular power supply, improvement of healthcare services, provision of affordable houses and employment for the masses.”

Giving the highlight of the programme, Pastor Aniyeloye disclosed that the special programme is being organised to put an end to premature deaths among artistes and also an avenue to pray for special global breakthrough for those in the entertainment industry.
