ABUJA-GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, said, yesterday, that the just concluded general elections in the country were not perfect, but there was a substantial improvement when compared to the past.
He also stressed that Nigeria needed leaders that love the country.
Speaking with Vanguard, yesterday, at Eagle Square, venue of the swearing-in ceremony of President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja, Governor Oshiomhole stressed that competence was also required if development and growth of the country must be achieved in all its ramifications.
He added that the inauguration was great against the backdrop that it was a new dawn for the country.
According to him, “the inauguration is great. We had elections that were peaceful across the country and they were not perfect, as we had problems here and there, but overall, we have seen a substantial improvement if compared with the past ones.”
Meanwhile, while answering questions from journalists at the inauguration venue of the President, the Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, who noted that the inauguration symbolised a new dawn in Nigeria, warned that it was not going to be business as usual.
