AKURE – THE name of the Defence Minister, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN, was conspicuously missing among the 10 names submitted for political appointments by the Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The list has already been rejected by some concerned members of the party in the state, further deepening the crisis in the party occasioned by the purported suspension of Prince Adetokunbo Kayode by leaders of the party.
Names on the list forwarded to National Secretariat of the party for ministerial and other positions include that of the immediate past governor, Olusegun Agagu, Business mogul, Jimoh Ibrahim, former Deputy Governor, Omolade Oluwateru and State chairman of the party, Dr Tayo Dairo.
Others are Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Matters, Kingsley Kuku, National Legal Adviser, Olusola Oke and two women; Folake Akinjoko and Febi Adeyemi.
Rejecting the list, the concerned members under the aegis of the Ondo PDP Coalition Forum, said “the list was not inclusive and it was meant to finally nail the coffin of the party in the state.
The Coalition through their Coordinator, Chief Ade Babalola said “the names were arrived at without adequate consultations with members across the state.
The group which claimed that it had a broad-based support across the state said “if this list is allowed to sail through, we want to say with every sense of responsibility that the PDP is dead in this state.”
