BENIN-FEW days to the inauguration of the Edo State House of Assembly, a lawmaker-elect into the state legislature to represent Esan Central Constituency, Mr. Victor Sabor Edoror, has been accused of using fake credentials to gain admission into the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

Meanwhile, Edoror has denied the allegation, insisting that he graduated from the institution in 2003 with a Bachelor of Engineering Second Class Honours and obtained a Master of Business Administration in 2010 from the same institution.

A group, Concerned Citizens from Esan Central, which made the accusation in a petition to the university, is demanding the withdrawal of degrees awarded to the lawmaker-elect.  The group, in a statement  by Mr. Azekhumen Sule, alleged that the lawmaker-elect secured admission into the university by altering his score in Physics from P7 to C6 in his statement of result obtain from Ujabhole Grammar School, Ujabhole-Irrua.

The group added,  “in the  light of the above, we hereby request you to use your good offices to investigate this matter and take appropriate and necessary action to protect the sanctity and integrity of the degrees awarded by Ambrose Alli University.

“We wish to emphasise that the power of the university to withdraw degrees from recipients, who have fraudulently earned them is now universally accepted,” it added.

Reacting, Edoror described the allegations as false, as his credentials were intact, adding that  attempt to stop his inauguration will fail.
