CRICKET: BRF aims for a double

After a hectic international schedule which saw some of the players travel out of the country for a month, Nigeria’s domestic cricket scene will come alive this weekend with two finals of some of the season’s competitions.

The Iris Smart Technologies CCC Super Four and the GT Assure T20 finals will be played on Saturday and Sunday respectively at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval, Lagos.

The Super Four final will be between traditional rivals, BRF Cricket club Ibeju Lekkki and Federal Government College, Warri Old Boys Cricket club while Government College, Ibadan Old Boys Cricket Club engage the same BRF CC on Sunday for the GT Assure T20 title..

It promises to be a thrilling weekend for followers of the local game as some of the players who were due back from their international assignment will showcase their new form that saw them gain promotion to ICC World Cricket League Division 6 and another remarkable outing at the APL Division 2 tournament in South Africa.

Organisers of the events have assured that everything has been put in place for a befitting weekend.
Lagos State Cricket Association technical committee chairman, Barnaby Ephraim said the season ending competitions have been very successful. “We ave had a very successful season so far and we want to end it well,” Ephraim said.
