Lagos most certainly would stand still today as Sentila nightclub brings to die-hard music fans in Lagos a show tagged Touch of an Idol to celebrate the greatness in 2face Idibia; the African queen crooner and multiple award winning artiste, who took African contemporary R&B soul music from Nigeria to the focus of the world.
A very special occasion it will be for 2face, as his songs will be delivered to him and other music lovers by colleagues especially those holding the sway amongst whom are Whiz kid, Sound Sultan, Banky W, amongst others.
And perhaps for the very first time in his singing life, Tu Baba as the musician is more fondly called by fans and admirers will be on the other side of the stage to listen and feel his own music and know what it does to people and perhaps understand why his fans are crazy about him.
He would also feel the pulse of the fans when he takes microphone to tackle issues which they have over time sought answers to.
The show is so important to 2face that he personally supervised the selection of musicians who be performing his songs.
As the countdown begins staff of the Sentila nightclub are braced for the show of the month as they put finishing touch to arrangements.
Since it is a show that honours 2face, it is not clear however if he will at some point in the night perform.
But then, this is one eventuality that even show organisers may have no power against. His fans may mount the pressure, forcing him to mount the stage.
