Kwara State Governor, Dr Bukola Saraki has congratulated the people of the State for their overwhelming support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded 2011 general elections.
He has also enlisted their support for the in-coming administration of the Governor-elect, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed to enable him succeed in office.
The governor, in a special message to the people of the State, also commended all political parties and candidates that participated in the governorship election for promoting peace and playing politics according to the rule of the game.
He specifically praised the people for voting massively for Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the election, which produced him as the winner and Governor-elect of the State.
The governor, who described the victory of the PDP in the gubernatorial election as the renewal of its mandate to serve the people for another four years, said it was an eloquent vote of confidence in the performance of the party in the past eight years.
His words: “The fact that we were able to record these remarkable results despite the very serious challenges that our party faced in the build up to the primaries, shows how firmly grounded our party is, and how overwhelming our support base is.
