Zaria – Sen. Ahmed Makarfi of PDP has lost Kaduna North Senatorial seat to CPC’s Baba Datti-Ahmed.
Announcing the result in Zaria, Friday, INEC Returning officer, Dr Fidelis Tisa, said Baba-Ahmed polled 366,398 votes while Makarfi had 365,043 votes.
He said ANPP’s Aminu Abdulfatah got 22,937 votes while Aliyu Umar of PRP polled 4,519 votes.
Tisa said the senatorial district recorded a total vote cast of 792,806 votes out of which 14,236 were rejected.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that PDP’s agent, Malam Nuhu Ibrahim, however, rejected the result, alleging irregularities in the process.
He submitted three copies of his petition to INEC for consideration.
