LAGOS – THE Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has dismissed claims by the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the state that it had perfected plans to rig tomorrow’s governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

It also called on the people of the state to vote out the ACN government, in the governorship poll.
Addressing newsmen, the state PDP chairman, Mr Setonji Koshedo, argued that the eight years reign of the ACN had brought untold hardship on the people of the state.

He described ACN claim’s as false, insisting that the PDP had no plan to rig the elections.

Koshedo said the ACN government, in addition to over taxing the people, had dislocated the poor and suffering masses in the state by the demolition of places where they carry out their petty trading.

He added that the ACN in the state had in the past eight years, brought discrimination in the provision of infrastructure in the state.

He maintained that the highbrow areas of Ikoyi and Victoria Island, where the rich reside, are being developed, while the areas where the poor reside are left in a very deplorable condition.

The PDP boss said  in its  bid to raise revenue, the ACN government in the state has imposed enormous burden on the people of the state.

Koshedo explained that, in spite of the huge financial resources  the state gets from both Internally Generated Revenue and federal allocation, Lagos is the highest indebted state in the country.

According to him, this is because the ACN controlled government in the state has judiciously used the huge financial resources at its disposal to the development of the state.
