CHAIRPERSON of the Rivers State chapter of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, PSN, Mrs Elizabeth Odili, who was kidnapped from her office on Okporo Road in Port Harcourt, April 21, 2011 by unknown gunmen is yet to be released.
Odili’s younger sister, a banker who identified herself as Patricia told newsmen in Port Harcourt, that “the story came that my sister was kidnapped by some men, numbering about five, who were said to have shot into the air and taken her away.
“We had reported the matter to the police and they said that they were doing something about it.
“Since then, we have not established contact with my sister’s abductors nor with her. It has been difficult because her phone was not taken away with her.”
“Our family had to handle these trying times with care because of the sensitivity of the situation. We don’t know the intention of her abductors so we are careful. I don’t know what she has done to any one to warrant this torture.
“My aged parents are wrecks. At first, we never told them but I know they now know and are bearing the problem with God’s assistance,” Patricia added.
Asked if the family suspected any one, the banker said she didn’t think of any one.
A few days ago, Elizabeth Ngozi Odili, who is also the National PRO of the National Council of Women Societies wrote a petition to the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Josephine Anenih, over the crisis in the nation’s foremost women body.
