Togo’s coach, Stephen Keshi has stated that the much awaited Super Eagles friendly with the Albiceleste of Argentina is not important as it will not determine if Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia is a good coach or not.

Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia(R) with Simon Kalika and Ike Shorunmu at Eagles training.

Speaking to journalist at the Gateway International Stadium in Ijubu-Ode, venue of the Orange CAF Confederations Cup between Sunshine Stars and Union Sportive de Forces Armees of Burkina Faso, Keshi said, Siasia does not need to win both games against Ethiopia and Guinea to prove to Nigerians that he is a good coach.

The former Super Eagles captain stressed that Nigerians should do away with the disease of winning at all cost and  instead, concentrate on building on the multiple talents scattered all over the country and the world for enviable success tomorrow.

“The game against Argentina does not mean anything, if Samson loses, it does not matter.  Same goes for the matches against the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia  and Syli national of Guinea; if he loses both games, it won’t make him a bad coach.

“What  bothers me most in Nigeria is our attitude of winning at all cost, we need to kill the syndrome.  If we say we want to build, we should have the patience for it. Now that Samson has said he wants to build, if he loses one or two games, we will all cry for him to go, but we forget that he is building. To build a good team, it takes three to four years,” the Togo boss said.

The Boss, as he is fondly called, advised the NFA to stick to their words of re-building the Super Eagles, as all other teams are doing same, else, the Eagles would not be part of the party in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in 2012.

“There is no little team again in football, every team is improving everyday  on all aspect of the game, so if Nigerians do not put their house together in terms of planning, they might not get to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in 2012. But I believe with the calibre of potentials at our disposal, we  will qualify for the Nations Cup,” Keshi Added.
